Another great photography exhibition for me to recommend. Little known Letier never received the recognition for his pioneering work with early colour photography which can be traced back to the 1940’s. Shot from a 35mm camera he bought up old, out of date film to save money, which gave his images an edge. Drawn to muted colours, shapes, shadows, surfaces and textures he is best known for abstract and figurative New York Street Scenes.
His exhibition is currently on at the Photographers Gallery, London. Another exhibition well worth a look and is on at the same venue is Easter Rising 1916: Sean Sexton Collection. This portrays the Irish Independence Rebellion Through the lens of a camera it captures key events including the role of women as active participants of the rising. Both exhibitions are on until the 3 April 2016 http://thephotographersgallery.org.uk/exhibitions

In fact I get my inspiration from so many places.. By sharing these experiences and thoughts with you I hope to both educate and inform. Archives
